Keeping your aim when you change DPI

Scenario: you bought a new mouse at 1600 DPI but trained muscle memory at 800 DPI. Convert your sensitivity so the physical feel carries over instead of relearning every flick.

Example: 800 DPI × 2.0 sens = 1600 eDPI. Moving to 1600 DPI, use 1.0 sens to keep the same eDPI; your 360° turn distance stays identical (about 4.6 cm).

Boundaries: eDPI is the true measure of feel; this assumes linear in-game sensitivity, which most titles use. Some games separate X/Y axes or use cm/360 directly, which this does not model.

FAQ: what is a good eDPI? It is personal — low (400–800) for precise aiming, high (1500+) for fast flicks. Consistency matters more than the exact number; keep eDPI constant across DPI changes.
